Randy founded Venator Partners in 1996 and has personally led over 200 senior level searches for venture capital funded and publicly traded technology companies.
He’s also developed and delivered a training program to train managers in hiring skills in order to help scaling companies make talent acquisition a core competency of their business. He was the VP of Talent at Carbonite, a 500 employee tech company where he implemented cutting edge talent management capabilities and including a talent acquisition capability that recruited over 165 people in a single year; a 300% increase over the prior year.
“Some people see me as an expert in the field of recruiting. I prefer to think of myself as a student of the craft of recruiting. On the surface the process of hiring is quite simple. It’s not particularly difficult to become an average recruiter and there is an abundance of those. The really good recruiters strive to understand and continually improve in each area that contributes to consistently delivering the best outcomes (see Our Approach). To be the very best is all in the nuance. Developing layer upon layer of nuance can only come from being a student of the craft, combined with many years of experience.”
